For 6ix Cycle, we developed a custom solution to help instructors keep workout sound levels within limits set by a prior acoustical assessment, as there were residential units located above the spin studio. The system was acoustically calibrated to the room’s average sound levels at the ceiling boundary, ensuring accurate monitoring without interfering with the class experience.
Sound levels are logged in real time and securely backed up to the cloud, giving the studio owners easy access to historical data whenever needed. Instructors use a simple visual system with green, yellow, and red lights, providing immediate feedback on whether the audio is within the acceptable range.
This approach allows the studio to maintain an energetic, high-quality workout environment while respecting the needs of nearby residents. The combination of real-time guidance and accessible data helps instructors focus on their classes without worrying about exceeding sound limits, creating a balance between performance and compliance.
